In a peaceful little village, there lived an honest pig named Percy. He had a cozy little farm with golden hay, juicy carrots, and a big, beautiful apple tree.
Next door lived Black Dog, a clever but mischievous neighbor. He loved to dig, explore, and play tricks—especially on Percy.
One morning, as Percy was digging in his garden to plant new carrots, his hoof hit something hard.
Clunk!
Percy’s eyes widened. He dug faster and uncovered a small, old treasure chest!

“What could be inside?” he wondered. But before he could open it, Black Dog came running over, sniffing the air.
“What’s that, Percy?” Black Dog asked, wagging his tail.
“I just found it buried in my garden!” Percy said honestly.
Black Dog’s eyes gleamed. “Well, well, well! If it was buried, that means it was lost. And if it was lost, that means… it’s mine now!”
Percy frowned. “But I found it in my garden. Shouldn’t we open it together?”
Black Dog thought for a moment, then nodded. “Fine, but if there’s treasure inside, I get the shiniest thing!”
They carefully opened the chest. Inside, they found…
A dusty old note.
Percy picked it up and read aloud:
“To the finder of this chest—thank you for being honest. A great reward awaits those who tell the truth. Look under the apple tree.”
Percy and Black Dog raced to the apple tree. They dug at its roots and found…
A second chest! But this one wasn’t empty.

Inside were golden biscuits, fresh apples, and a shiny medal that read ‘Honesty is the Greatest Treasure’!
Percy smiled. “See, Black Dog? Being honest led us to something even better.”
Black Dog chuckled. “Alright, alright… You win this time, Percy. But next time, I’ll be the honest one first!”
And from that day on, Black Dog tried his best to be just as honest as his neighbor—even if he still loved a little mischief now and then.
