The Clever Hen and the Chatty Parrot

Once upon a time, on a lively little farm, there lived a wise hen named Hattie and a talkative parrot named Pablo. Hattie was known for her cleverness, while Pablo could mimic anything he heard. Despite being so different, they were the best of friends.

One breezy morning, the farmer left a basket of golden corn near the farmhouse. Hattie’s beady eyes sparkled. “That’s the best corn on the farm!” she clucked.

Pablo flapped his colorful wings. “Corn! Corn! Delicious corn!” he squawked excitedly.

But just as they were about to feast, a sneaky fox peeked from behind the fence. His sharp eyes locked onto Hattie. “Ah, a plump hen for breakfast,” he whispered, creeping closer.

Hattie spotted the fox and froze. “Pablo, we need a plan!” she whispered.

Pablo, always full of words, had an idea. He puffed out his chest and shouted in the farmer’s deep voice, “HEY! WHO’S OUT THERE?”

The fox yelped in fear. Thinking the farmer was coming, he dashed away into the woods, his tail between his legs.

Hattie laughed. “That was brilliant, Pablo!”

Pablo fluffed his feathers proudly. “Smart and loud make a great team!”

From that day on, Hattie and Pablo became the farm’s protectors—Hattie with her clever thinking and Pablo with his quick words. And, of course, they enjoyed their golden corn together, safe and happy.

The End.
